Dubai Industrial City, a key hub for manufacturing and logistics in the Middle East, is set to participate in the prestigious SIAL Paris 2024 food exhibition. This event, taking place from 19-23 October at the Paris Nord Villepinte, is organised under the auspices of the Dubai Department of Economy and Tourism (DET).

As part of TECOM Group PJSC, which oversees the development of ten specialised business districts, Dubai Industrial City aims to showcase its robust infrastructure and strategic location that bolster the manufacturing landscape in the region. The initiative underscores the importance of innovation and collaboration in addressing global food security challenges.

“Collaboration is critical to building a food-secure future for all, and a cohesive manufacturing ecosystem will underpin this journey,” said Saud Abu Alshawareb, Executive Vice President of Industrial at TECOM Group, representing Dubai Industrial City. He emphasised the importance of fostering an environment that promotes innovation within the food and beverage (F&B) manufacturing sector while strengthening global supply chains.

Aligned with Dubai’s Economic Agenda ‘D33’, Operation 300bn, and the National Food Security Strategy 2051, Dubai Industrial City is committed to enhancing the UAE’s role as a global leader in industrial excellence and a significant contributor to global food security. The district’s strategic position near Al Maktoum International Airport, Jebel Ali Port, and key road networks facilitates efficient trade and logistics operations. This proximity is crucial for F&B businesses, ensuring the freshness and security of products during transport and offering a gateway to consumers across the MENASA region.

Established in 2004, Dubai Industrial City hosts over 1,000 customers, including industry giants such as A.P. Moeller-Maersk, Patchi, and Al Barakah Dates, along with 300 operational factories. The area’s business ecosystem supports a diverse range of sectors, further enhancing its reputation as a vital component of the region’s industrial landscape.

The participation in SIAL Paris 2024 reflects Dubai Industrial City’s ongoing commitment to defining the regional F&B manufacturing landscape. By embedding resilience into local supply chains, the district plays an instrumental role in ensuring food security across the manufacturing life cycle.

The SIAL Paris exhibition provides an excellent platform for Dubai Industrial City to engage with global stakeholders, share best practices, and showcase its innovative solutions in food manufacturing. As global food security becomes an increasingly pressing concern, initiatives like this are vital for fostering collaboration and innovation across the industry.

In a rapidly evolving market, Dubai Industrial City’s strategic efforts not only aim to enhance the local economy but also seek to address wider global food supply challenges. As the exhibition approaches, stakeholders are keenly anticipating the insights and partnerships that may arise, reflecting the critical need for a resilient food supply chain in the post-pandemic world.
