Frozen food distributor Central Foods has announced the appointment of Amy Oliver as its new business development executive. Her addition to the sales team comes as part of the company’s expansion plans, particularly following a recent agreement with Tyson Foods’ UK division, aimed at enhancing the distribution of chicken products to independent frozen food wholesalers across the UK.

Based near Central Foods’ headquarters in Collingtree, Northampton, Amy expressed enthusiasm for her new role. “I am excited to join Central Foods as a business development executive and start my journey within this wonderful local business in the exciting world of foodservice,” she stated. “I’ve always had an interest in food and food trends, and there is no better place to indulge my passion than in the market itself. I am looking forward to learning from the years of knowledge that my fellow colleagues have within the business.”

Amy brings with her experience in both food retail and hospitality. However, this marks her first full-time role since completing her A-levels. Her appointment aligns with Central Foods’ strategy to bolster its sales capabilities, ensuring a strong presence in the competitive foodservice sector.

Gordon Lauder, Managing Director of Central Foods, welcomed Amy to the team, saying, “We are delighted to have expanded our sales team and look forward to introducing Amy to our clients and customers. It’s an exciting time to be joining Central Foods, as we begin working with Tyson Foods alongside all the other fantastic brands and businesses that we have been working with for many years—supporting them with distribution in the foodservice sector and providing the catering industry with a superb range of quality products.”

Central Foods has established itself as one of the UK’s leading frozen food distributors for the foodservice sector. The company serves over 200 independent wholesalers, as well as larger national and regional wholesalers. Its client base spans a variety of sectors, including hotels, restaurants, bars, universities, schools, pubs, care homes, and garden centres.

With the recent partnership with Tyson Foods, Central Foods is poised to enhance its offerings to clients, providing a broader selection of chicken products, which are increasingly in demand among foodservice providers. This move is expected to further strengthen the company’s position in the market and provide clients with a comprehensive range of frozen food options.

Amy’s passion for food and dedication to her role may contribute significantly to the company’s goals of maintaining high standards of service and product quality. As she embarks on this new chapter with Central Foods, both the company and its clients look forward to the positive impact of her contributions.
