Anti-science fears risk EU food industry competitiveness
Food industry leaders who gathered in Moscow for the annual Adam Smith Institute Agri-Food Summit on Monday were warned of the critical importance of a productive, science-based farming sector to the future success of Europe’s €900 billion food and drink industry.
Dominic Dyer, Crop Protection Association Chief Executive, opened this year’s conference with a clear warning to the European food industry that they must not allow false fears about crop protection and biotechnology to put European agriculture and food production at a major disadvantage when compared to the rest of the world.
